Corwyn
Silence reigned over the disquieting forest of Caer Maed; an oppressive, almost supernatural silence that remained unbroken by the slightest noise or cry of an animal.
Suddenly a strange sound rose from the heart of the Black Woods, an almost imperceptible sound, no more than a stifled whisper. Then the whisper became sobbing, interrupted by desperate pleas, and the sobbing became cries of terror, the terror of the one who knows that he is going to die. And finally the terror gave way to pain, and the screams could be heard up to the heavens before they suddenly came to a halt.
From the top of a rocky promontory, the bent shape of Corwyn dominated the forest of torches that spread in front of him. Brandishing before him the blood-covered antlers of a stag, the old shaman raised it to his forehead and placed it on his head. He didn?t say a word. For the clan, this symbol only meant one thing: war. A savage cheer rose from the crowd and the forest was set ablaze with the reflection of flames on steel!
Within Drune society, the Wyrds are a caste apart. At once shamans and spiritual leaders, they form the dominant class and dictate the rest of the clan?s behaviour. Thanks to the emblem of his position, Corwyn can be used as a war chief or simply as a magician.
