February already! This year looks like it's going to fly by like the last one. We're heading into this month off the back of the Times of War tournament where we had a great time helping out with that event and running our stall. You can check out some pics in our articles section.
During February we are going to focus on our vidcast series, which we have been promising to do. We've got some great ideas for modelling tips, games reviews and general antics. So stay tuned.

They are a fantastic range of the famous World War I aircraft that come as a complete model, painted and assembled. They come with a variable 'altitude' stand, base, and special cards to manoeuvre the plane. Hell, these little puppies are so cool you can buy one to sit it on ya desk at work!
Finally!... A counter for all occassions:
New to our shelves, is Gale Force Nine's range of markers and counters. Perfect game aids for helping you to easily track turns, determine line of site, mark charges, note wounds and much, much more. With different stylings to suit the fantasy or sci-fi fan, there is something for all game systems and players at a compeditive price.
Do you hate undercoating miniatures?
If you're like me, the menial task of base coating minis black before you start painting proper is about as interesting as something that's not.
But sadly, it's also necessary. Whipping out the spray can is not what I am talking about. I don't mind recklessly covering black spray over everying within 3 feet of my minis. What I am taking about is going over the mini with a brush to cover the bits the spray misses. If you're painting a whole army, this is a massive job and one that I what to get done as quickly as possible.
So here is a little tip that I pick up from WarPuppy's resident painter extraordinaire, Adam. I grab my Derivan MiNiS Black, squirt a bit into my paint pallet and mix in some black ink to a ratio of 3 parts paint to 1 part ink. Added to this is a drop or two of Derivan MiNiS Ink Medium to thin it down a little more whilst still retaining it's colour and opacity. This thins the paint without making it look watery.
Best of all I find this magic wash covers well and speeds up the process of getting the horrid job of preparing your models.
You can check out the latest episode of A Dog's Life to see how I do this and the result you can get.
