A board game is a game played with counters or pieces that are placed on, removed from, or moved across a "board" (a pre marked surface, usually specific to that game). Board games have been around for thousands of years, with examples dating back to ancient Egyptian times.
Simple board games often make ideal "family entertainment" since they are often appropriate for all ages. Some are far more complicated designed for an adult audience. The range of board games today is immense and there is literally something to meet the interests of all persons.
